The drama in the NFL has already begun with the Dallas Cowboys even before training camp starts.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones spoke to reporters and made some controversial comments that didn’t sit well with star defensive end Micah Parsons.

Jones mentioned that he appreciates Parsons being in camp despite ongoing contract negotiations. However, he also took a jab at Parsons by highlighting his injury history from the previous season.

J.J. Watt, a former Houston Texans pass rusher, criticized Jones on social media, which was retweeted by Parsons.

Parsons, the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has established himself as a top edge rusher in the league with impressive stats.

Given the lucrative contracts of other top defensive players in the league, Parsons is likely seeking a significant pay raise from the Cowboys.

It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys handle Parsons’ contract situation as the preseason progresses. If a deal isn’t reached, Parsons could become a free agent next year.
