Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary lead singer of the band Black Sabbath, passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday. Just two weeks before his death, Osbourne performed a farewell show.
Aside from his musical career, Osbourne also made a name for himself in the sports world.
The New England Patriots and various sports figures paid tribute to Osbourne, who provided the iconic intro for Patriots games for over 20 years. The Atlanta Braves’ Chipper Jones also remembered Osbourne, as his song “Crazy Train” was Jones’ walk-up song during his Hall of Fame career.
Aston Villa Football Club in England, Osbourne’s hometown team, also honored the heavy metal icon.
The St. Louis Blues shared a photo of Osbourne wearing their jersey in 2019, expressing their love for him.
The Osbourne family released a statement requesting privacy as they mourn his passing. Osbourne is survived by his wife Sharon and their children.
In 2020, Osbourne revealed his battle with Parkinson’s disease after a fall.
