Mike Vrabel, the head coach of the New England Patriots, displayed a touch of Bill Belichick on Tuesday when he reacted sharply to a reporter’s question he had already answered.
The question that triggered Vrabel was from Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, inquiring about the team’s performance on the first day of Patriots camp.

Clearly irritated, Vrabel responded promptly, stating, “Whether you were in a coma when I answered Tom’s question, or typing on your phone or tweeting, I don’t know. But I spent five minutes answering that question. I can go back through it, but I’d rather not,”
Some may see Vrabel’s reaction as unnecessary, but Volin admitted to not paying attention to the previous response from the coach.
“Flag on the play. 5 yard penalty. Total lack of focus,” Volin replied after the video of their exchange went viral.
Vrabel, a former player under Belichick, has adopted a similar coaching style. He demands efficiency and correctness from everyone, including reporters.

After a year-long break, Vrabel returned as the head coach of the Patriots, aiming to lead the team back to the playoffs after missing out in 2021.

With new additions like Stefon Diggs and established players like Drake Maye, the Patriots are set for an intriguing season in Foxborough.
Vrabel, however, hopes that the focus remains on the game rather than repeated questions.
