Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is focused on repairing his relationship with star receiver Tyreek Hill after Hill expressed frustration following the team’s failure to reach the playoffs in the 2024 season.

During a press conference at the Dolphins training camp, Tagovailoa addressed Hill’s comments, emphasizing the need to work on rebuilding their connection.

“When you make a statement like that, a simple apology is not enough,” Tagovailoa stated in an interview with the NFL Network. “It requires effort to mend the relationship. He is putting in the work.”

Hill’s reaction came after the Dolphins’ loss to the New York Jets in Week 18, which eliminated their chances of making the playoffs as a wild card team.

It was a new experience for Hill, and his immediate response raised speculation about his future with the team.

“I have to prioritize my family and myself,” Hill stated at the time. “Whether it’s here or elsewhere, I have to make the best decision for my career. I’m determined to succeed.”

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, clarified that the receiver’s comments stemmed from genuine frustration but affirmed his commitment to the Dolphins.

In January, Hill expressed that his earlier comments were driven by frustration and not indicative of his true intentions.

Despite rumors, Hill remained with the Dolphins during the offseason and is now preparing for the upcoming season.

The Pro Bowl receiver had a less impressive season in 2024 compared to his performance in 2023, recording lower statistics in various categories.

The Dolphins are optimistic about the upcoming season, especially with concerns about player health, including Tagovailoa’s previous injury issues.
