Hulk Hogan mourned by sports and political figures after passing

Pro wrestling icon Ric Flair expressed his sorrow over the loss of fellow wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who passed away after experiencing cardiac arrest at his Florida residence. Hogan was 71 years old.

“I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend Hulk Hogan,” Flair wrote in a heartfelt statement on social media. “Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be.”

Flair expressed gratitude for Hogan’s support during his health struggles and concluded by saying, “Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!”

TMZ Sports broke the news of Hogan’s passing, attributing it to a possible cardiac arrest at his residence in Clearwater, Florida. This tragic event occurred shortly after Hogan reportedly faced a health crisis.

The Clearwater Police Department confirmed that emergency services responded to a medical emergency at Hogan’s home before 10 a.m. Hogan received treatment for cardiac arrest on-site and was then taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the organization expressed in a statement. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Hogan ventured into politics by appearing at the Republican National Convention during the 2024 Presidential Election. He later made an appearance at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Condolences from various lawmakers and public figures flooded social media platforms following the news of Hogan’s passing.
