Naylor, aged 28, has had a successful season with the Diamondbacks, boasting a .292 batting average with 11 home runs and 59 RBI in 93 games.

The Diamondbacks had acquired Naylor in the previous season from the Cleveland Guardians to replace Christian Walker, who left for the Houston Astros in free agency.

Naylor, who was an American League All-Star last season, had an impressive 31 home runs and 108 RBI with the Guardians.

“We are excited to have Josh join us as we aim for the postseason,” said Seattle general manager Justin Hollander. “Josh’s versatility in hitting for both average and power is exceptional, and we are looking forward to having him on our team.”

Naylor will be a key player in the Mariners’ lineup, alongside AL MVP candidate Cal Raleigh, center fielder Julio Rodriguez, and left fielder Randy Arozarena.

The Mariners currently hold the second wild card spot in the American League with a record of 55-48, trailing the Astros in the American League West.

Garcia, aged 25, made his MLB debut with the Mariners on July 21 after progressing through the team’s farm system. Izzi, aged 21, was selected by the Mariners in the 2022 MLB Draft.
