Robin Kaye and Thomas DeLuca, executives from “American Idol,” tragically lost their lives after being shot by an intruder at their home.
Their bodies were discovered on July 14 by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) during a welfare check.
A concerned friend contacted the authorities after not hearing from the couple for several days. The police found signs of trouble outside the home, and upon entering, they found Kaye and DeLuca dead from gunshot wounds.
The LAPD had visited the Encino residence twice on July 10, but it was reported that they had left the scene just 25 minutes before the couple arrived home.

July 9
The night before their deaths, Robin Kaye and Thomas DeLuca attended a neighborhood safety meeting, as reported by NBC4 Los Angeles.
At a subsequent safety meeting, which took place after the murders, officers promised to increase patrols in the Encino area neighborhoods.
July 10, 4:10pm:
A neighbor called 911 after witnessing someone climbing the fence onto the couple’s property. The LAPD responded to the call by dispatching a helicopter and patrol cars.

July 10, 4:16pm:
The LAPD operator in the helicopter checked with dispatch to confirm if the person reporting the break-in still had sight of the suspect.
July 10, 4:18pm:
Despite no evidence of a forced entry, the LAPD gave the all-clear and left the property. It is unclear at what exact time the officers departed. Fox News Digital has reached out to the LAPD for further information.

July 10, 4:43pm:
Kaye and DeLuca returned home about 25 minutes after the police had left.
July 10, 4:46-4:50pm:
Another 911 call was made to the LAPD, with the caller expressing fear of a break-in at their office. Detectives later determined that the call came from inside Kaye and DeLuca’s home.
The LAPD responded to the home after receiving two burglary calls. Despite no signs of forced entry, the police investigated the property.
LAPD Lt. Guy Golan mentioned that the house had high walls with spikes, making it difficult for intruders to enter without force.

July 14, 2:30pm:
The bodies of Kaye and DeLuca were found by the police during a welfare check prompted by a concerned friend.
Investigators believe the suspect entered through an unlocked door and engaged in a violent struggle with the victims upon their return home.

A suspect named Raymond Boodarian, aged 22, was arrested in connection with the double homicide.
July 17:
Boodarian was charged with two counts of murder and one count of first-degree burglary. Deputy District Attorney Hilary Williams stated that special circumstances were filed regarding the murders.

During a town hall meeting, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman revealed new details about the case. He mentioned that Boodarian had called 911 on the day of the incident and used the couple’s own gun in the crime.
Encino residents expressed concerns about rising crime levels in the area and emphasized the need for increased safety measures.
Authorities have since increased patrols in the Encino neighborhood during specific hours to address these concerns.
