Multiple suspects in violent downtown attack identified by Cincinnati police

Authorities have identified a minimum of four suspects involved in a violent altercation that occurred in the heart of Cincinnati, as per police sources.

Local news outlet FOX 19 reported that the incident took place on Friday evening between Elm and Fourth Streets, with videos of the clash quickly spreading on social media.

Videos circulating on social media show two individuals attacking a man wearing a white t-shirt, who is eventually pushed to the ground. The man in the white t-shirt was kicked multiple times while on the ground, but managed to get back up.

A woman was also seen lying unconscious on the street after being punched. Several people can be seen assisting her to regain consciousness.

Police sources revealed on Monday that at least four suspects have been identified, with efforts ongoing to identify eight more individuals.

It remains unclear what sparked the altercation.

The two individuals involved in the fight sustained serious injuries, according to police sources.

Cincinnati Chief of Police Teresa Theetge expressed her shock at the incident, describing the behavior as cruel and utterly unacceptable.

Local Mayor Aftab Pureval also condemned the “vicious” fight, emphasizing that such behavior is intolerable in any part of the community.

Vice President JD Vance called the perpetrators “lawless thugs” and urged for strict prosecution.

The Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Harmeet Dhillon, pledged to closely monitor the local authorities’ response to the attack.

Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Kearney assured that all individuals involved in the altercation will be held accountable for their actions.
