Billy Joel debunks DUI myths: ‘That never happened!’

Billy Joel recently clarified rumors about being charged with driving under the influence in his new HBO documentary, “Billy Joel: And So It Goes.”

Despite being involved in car accidents in the past, Joel denied any involvement with alcohol or DUIs.

Addressing the rumors, Joel stated, “That never happened. But people keep repeating the myth. ‘Oh, he’s got so many DUIs.’ I never had a DUI. So f— you.”

He also mentioned the challenges of dealing with press scrutiny and the impact it had on him.

Regarding his car accidents in the early 2000s, Joel attributed them to his mental state at the time, particularly after the events of 9/11.

Joel recently revealed his diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and how it affected his health and performances.

NPH is a condition where cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the skull, typically affecting people over 65 years old.

Joel had to cancel his tour dates earlier this year to focus on his recovery and physical therapy following surgery.

Despite these challenges, Joel found happiness in his personal life, marrying Alexis Roderick in 2015 and raising two daughters together.
