President Donald Trump recently disclosed why he ceased communication with Jeffrey Epstein for several years, revealing that the disgraced financier had engaged in inappropriate behavior during a visit to his Florida residence.
While conversing with reporters at the Trump Turnberry golf course in Turnberry, Scotland, during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump mentioned that Epstein was ejected from his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago estate for trying to hire his employees.
Their relationship deteriorated in 2004 following a disagreement over Trump outbidding Epstein in a bankruptcy auction for a coastal property, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.
“He took employees from me,” Trump remarked. “I warned him not to do it again. When he repeated the offense, I banned him from the premises, making him persona non grata.”
Trump also stated that he never visited Epstein’s island.
“I declined the invitation, although many people in Palm Beach were invited to his island,” Trump informed the reporters. “I made the decision not to go.”
Recent discussions surrounding Epstein have centered on Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s visit to Florida for meetings with convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.
Trump has not ruled out the possibility of pardoning Maxwell, stating that while he is legally permitted to do so, it is not a decision he has contemplated.
Last week, Maxwell received a subpoena from a House subcommittee as lawmakers seek further information on the extent of Epstein’s crimes.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY) indicated that Republicans on the Oversight Committee were planning to pursue greater transparency regarding the Epstein files.
The White House informed Fox News Digital on Monday that they had “Nothing to add beyond the President’s statements.”
