During his visit to his newest Scottish golf course, President Donald Trump highlighted his achievements in foreign policy on Tuesday. This comes after he seemed to differ from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s position on food supply to Gaza.

Trump, alongside his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, spoke to reporters at Trump International Golf Links near Aberdeen, Scotland. They opened a new golf course in the village of Balmedie on Scotland’s northern coast.

“I’m excited to play today. We’ll move quickly. Then, I’ll head back to D.C. to address issues worldwide,” Trump stated before officially opening the new course.

“Yesterday, we resolved one conflict. We prevented not just one war, but about five,” Trump explained. “This is more important than playing golf, as much as I enjoy it.”

“This year and this decade will be extraordinary. We will make all of our countries strong, great, and truly wonderful again,” Trump continued. “This progress is happening rapidly.”

Amid U.S. pressure, Thailand and Cambodia reached a ceasefire agreement. The Trump administration also took credit for preventing a nuclear escalation between India and Pakistan, resolving conflicts between Serbia and Kosovo, and easing tensions between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. Earlier this year, Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen agreed to a ceasefire following U.S.-U.K. strikes.

In late June, Trump ordered U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, claiming to have ended the Israel-Iran conflict in just 12 days, thus preventing further loss of life.

Following this, the U.S. and Israel withdrew their negotiators from ceasefire talks in Doha, Qatar. Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, stated that Hamas did not appear to be cooperative in reaching an agreement to release the remaining hostages taken in the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks on Israel or in creating a more stable environment for the people of Gaza.

As the opening ceremony concluded, a reporter asked Trump what he would say to Netanyahu next.

“We are collaborating to resolve global issues,” Trump replied.

During a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Trump Turnberry in Girvan, Scotland, Trump was asked about Netanyahu’s concerns regarding mass starvation in Gaza. Trump’s response was based on visual observations of hungry children.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. has not received enough recognition for the aid provided to Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas terrorists.

Trump’s foreign trip focused on promoting his family’s luxury properties and playing golf. He met with Starmer to establish a trade framework for tariffs between the U.S. and the European Union’s 27 member countries.

Trump invited Starmer, a non-golfer, aboard Air Force One to tour his Aberdeen properties before the ceremonial opening.

The Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, was designed by Eric Trump and is hosting a PGA Seniors Championship event later this week.

Trump acknowledged Sarah Malone, the Executive Vice President of Trump International Golf Links Scotland, during the opening ceremony. Trump also thanked his daughter-in-law Lara Trump for her efforts leading the Republican Party during the 2024 presidential election.

Trump’s late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born in Scotland and immigrated to New York. Trump expressed his love for Scotland, citing his mother’s annual visits to Stornoway.

“These are very challenging to construct, and you won’t see them built often. You will likely never see another course built in the dunes like this,” Trump commented on the course.

The new golf course is the third owned by the Trump Organization in Scotland, with Trump buying Turnberry in 2014 and another course near Aberdeen in 2012.

Trump’s assets are managed by a trust, and his sons oversee the family business while he serves in the White House.
