Fans of the iconic rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will have the opportunity to pay their respects before he is laid to rest in a “small, private funeral” by close friends and family.

The Birmingham City Council announced plans to honor Osbourne with a procession along the streets of Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon.

“The hearse and accompanying vehicles will travel down Broad Street to the Black Sabbath bridge and bench, where fans have left messages and tributes,” the city announced. “The procession will be accompanied by a live brass band performance by local musicians from Bostin’ Brass, providing a musical tribute to Ozzy Osbourne’s life and legacy.”

Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22, will be privately honored by his family and friends with a small funeral, according to reports.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar Iqbal, expressed the importance of honoring Osbourne in the city that meant so much to him.

Osbourne had shared his wishes for a celebratory funeral in a column back in 2011, emphasizing the importance of it being a time to say ‘thanks’ rather than a somber occasion.

The family of Ozzy Osbourne confirmed his passing on July 22, stating that he was surrounded by love and with his family.

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003 but only revealed it publicly in 2020. Despite his health struggles, he continued to inspire many and will be remembered for his contributions to the music industry.

Ozzy Osbourne leaves behind his wife Sharon, daughters Kelly and Aimee, son Jack, daughter Jessica, and sons Elliot and Louis.
