Trump moves nuclear subs after Russian threats rise

President Donald Trump completed his 28th week in office by announcing the repositioning of two nuclear submarines amid escalating tensions with Russia and the imposition of new tariffs on several countries.

Trump set a new deadline for Russia to resolve its conflict with Ukraine, prompting former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to warn that this move is a step closer to war.

In response to the increased tension, Trump announced on Friday that two submarines would be repositioned to address the situation.

The President did not provide specific details about the submarines’ movements, as such information is typically classified due to the sensitive nature of submarine operations.

In addition to the submarine repositioning, Trump signed executive orders related to tariffs, including raising tariffs on Canada to 35% due to concerns over the flow of illicit drugs into the US. Canada’s Prime Minister disputed these claims.

Furthermore, Trump adjusted reciprocal tariffs with Brazil and reached a trade deal with South Korea, lowering tariffs to 15%. Trade talks with Mexico were also extended.

On a separate note, Trump signed the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act into law, which aims to prevent veterans from losing their homes to foreclosure by offering a partial claims program.

The President highlighted the importance of this legislation in providing relief to veterans and their families facing mortgage difficulties, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to supporting veterans.

Overall, Trump’s actions this week reflect his administration’s efforts to address national security concerns, trade relations, and support for veterans.
