The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation took an unexpected turn on Saturday.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski initially announced that Greg Newsome and Myles Garrett were absent from practice, but later revealed that Shedeur Sanders was also sidelined due to shoulder soreness.
The timeline of Sanders’ shoulder discomfort remains unclear.

This offseason has been quite turbulent for Sanders, once projected as a top-five pick but ending up selected in the fifth round by the Browns. Despite taking snaps with the third-teamers during training camp, Sanders did have an opportunity to face the first-team defense earlier in the week.
With Kenny Pickett returning to practice after a hamstring injury and Joe Flacco also in the mix, Sanders is vying for a chance to showcase his skills, especially with Deshaun Watson rehabbing from an Achilles injury.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam recently disclosed that general manager Andrew Berry made the decision to draft Sanders, despite initial doubts.
Sanders is expected to make his debut in the upcoming preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, provided his shoulder ailment allows him to play.
