Former and current athlete Tua Tagovailoa has been appointed to President Donald Trump’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, along with other notable names.

Tagovailoa, a Miami Dolphins quarterback, expressed his honor at being chosen for the council, although he admitted he was not well-versed in the details of the appointment.

Other members of the council include Bryson DeChambeau, Lawrence Taylor, Harrison Butker, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Annika Sorenstam, Gary Bettman, Cody Campbell, Roger Goodell, Wayne Gretzky, Nelly Korda, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Mariano Rivera, Tony Romo, and Matthew Tkachuk. Saquon Barkley declined the appointment.

In a social media post by Ivanka Trump, Tagovailoa and wide receiver Braxton Berrios were pictured engaging in family activities, showcasing a personal connection to the president’s family.

Tagovailoa’s wife, Annah, has also shown support for the president in the past, receiving both praise and criticism for her public statements.

Concerns have been raised about Tagovailoa’s long-term health after suffering multiple concussions in his professional football career.
