Trump boosts federal law enforcement in D.C.

President Donald Trump has instructed federal law enforcement to increase presence in Washington, D.C., in response to a rise in violent crime. This decision comes after a former DOGE worker known as “Big Balls” was viciously attacked in the city this week.

In March, Trump signed an executive order to establish the “Making DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force.” The administration is now implementing a comprehensive approach by deploying additional law enforcement to enhance public safety in the nation’s capital. The operation, involving local and federal agencies like Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, and DEA, will commence at midnight on Thursday and initially last for seven days, with the option to extend if necessary. The focus will be on improving safety in high-traffic tourist areas and other crime hotspots.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that there will be no safe haven for violent criminals in D.C. going forward. Trump’s commitment to making Washington, D.C. safer for residents, lawmakers, and visitors is evident through this increased federal law enforcement presence.

The executive order directs the task force to coordinate with local law enforcement and review federal prosecutorial policies to ensure individuals posing a threat to public safety are detained. It also emphasizes the maximum enforcement of federal immigration laws to address illegal activities in the area.

The additional law enforcement resources will aim to protect D.C. residents and visitors from the escalating violent crime rates in the city. This move aligns with Trump’s campaign promise to enhance safety in the capital city.
