Grant Napear, the former broadcaster for the Sacramento Kings who was terminated for a controversial post, recently appeared on “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” for an interview.

After a period of unemployment, Napear has secured a new radio broadcasting job. He will host his own show on a FOX Sports Radio station in Sacramento, airing on weekdays from 3-6 PST, beginning September 2nd.

With 26 years of experience broadcasting games for the Kings, Napear was let go due to a tweet he posted in 2020.

Napear shared his thoughts on being fired during his interview with Travis and Sexton. He mentioned receiving private support from individuals within the industry who were shocked by his dismissal.

“Privately, people were outraged and surprised,” Napear stated. “I had major figures in the sports broadcasting field reach out to me expressing disbelief. They were concerned about potential backlash for saying something that could be misinterpreted.”

Napear expressed that no one publicly defended him due to fear of repercussions for supporting someone who made offensive remarks.

“Every one of them said, ‘I want to speak up for you publicly, but I can’t,’” Napear shared. “They were too afraid. People were hesitant to come to my defense.”

Despite the challenges he faced, Napear has returned to the industry with a new opportunity to pursue his passion. It’s a positive step towards rectifying the situation.
