Backyard tiny home with three stories and skyline views
Standing over 28 feet tall with three full stories of living space, the DQ Tower takes up just a 13 by 13 feet footprint. Ideal for tight urban plots or backyard spaces, it rises vertically rather than spreading out like traditional mobile tiny homes.

Spacious living in a compact footprint
The ground floor of the DQ Tower opens up into a generous living and dining area. Featuring a comfortable sofa that also serves as seating or an extra sleeping space, a dining nook next to a kitchenette with an induction stove, sink, and refrigerator. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide ample natural light and expand the space. The ground floor also includes a half bathroom with a washing machine.
Climbing the staircase to the second floor, you’ll find the first cozy bedroom with a single bed and built-in wardrobe, along with a full bathroom featuring a standing shower. The ceilings are spacious, avoiding the cramped loft designs of other tiny homes.
The third floor boasts the master bedroom with a double bed, a larger wardrobe, and a small desk for work. Tall windows offer light and ventilation, maximizing the compact space and providing stunning views.

Prefabricated backyard house ships in just 8 months
The DQ Tower offers nearly 420 square feet of living space, making it suitable for a couple, small family, or anyone embracing downsizing. It can also serve as a guest house for sites like Airbnb, with two bathrooms and two bedrooms for added convenience and livability.
The key advantage of these tiny tower homes is their prefabrication. Built off-site in Germany, they are transported to the location and installed with a small crane crew. The entire structure features a sturdy steel frame, well-insulated walls, and stylish aluminum panels.

Luxury tiny home pricing starts at $176,000
Currently priced at around $176,000, these private towers offer high-quality, designer-level micro-living with a sleek and accommodating design, despite being almost twice the cost per square foot of other tiny homes.
Kurt’s key takeaways
The DQ Tower goes beyond a typical tiny home, presenting a bold vision for comfortable living in smaller spaces. While not yet available in the US, it provides insight into the future of compact, vertical living. As cities grow denser and backyard space becomes more valuable, this European design could inspire the next wave of American prefab housing.
