Another individual has been taken into custody in connection with the violent incident that occurred in Cincinnati on July 26.
Patrick Rosemond, aged 38, was apprehended in Fulton County, Georgia, and charged with two counts of felonious assault and aggravated riot by the Cincinnati Police Department. The other individuals arrested in relation to the event are Dominique Kittle, Jermaine Matthews, Montianez Merriweather, and Dekyra Vernon. Matthews was able to post bond last week.
The FBI and Atlanta Metropolitan Major Offender’s Task Force collaborated to arrest Rosemond. He will undergo the extradition process before being returned to Cincinnati, as stated by the police.
The incident took place between Elm and Fourth Streets, with videos of the altercation spreading widely on social media. The footage captured two individuals being attacked, including a woman who was left unconscious after being punched and kicked multiple times.
One of the victims, identified as Holly, provided an update on her condition through a video.
“It has been extremely challenging, and I am still in the process of recovery,” Holly mentioned in an online video. “I am still experiencing severe brain trauma.”
Holly also expressed gratitude for the medical attention she has received and the support from donors to a fundraising campaign aimed at assisting her.
“Thank you for helping me access the necessary medical care and ensuring I have a place to stay because I cannot work until I have fully recuperated,” Holly expressed. “Each day, I am making incremental progress.”
Despite her external injuries healing, she revealed that there is significant internal damage that will require ongoing treatment for an extended period.
Out of the approximately 100 witnesses to the altercation, only one person contacted 911, according to Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge.
“I can assure you that if the Cincinnati Police Department had been notified promptly, our officers would have responded swiftly and decisively to safeguard lives,” Theetge assured.
