Archie Manning, 76, shared his thoughts on his grandson, Arch, the talented Texas quarterback, and believes he will stick around for a while.
Although the possibility of Arch entering the 2026 NFL Draft has not been discussed, Archie is confident that his grandson will remain at Texas.
According to Manning, “Arch isn’t going to do that. He’ll be at Texas,” as reported by Texas Monthly.

The anticipation surrounding Arch’s first season as a starter is building. Fans have already pegged him as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate, much to Archie’s dismay.
Archie expressed his frustration, stating, “People are saying he’s a Heisman candidate. You’re not a Heisman Trophy candidate when you haven’t played but three games. It’s crazy.”
Arch made an impact by starting three games this season due to Quinn Ewers’ injury. Additionally, he has appeared in seven games, completing 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Not only has Manning shown prowess in passing, but he has also displayed his running abilities by rushing for 100 yards and four touchdowns this season. Even with Ewers’ return, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian continued to utilize Manning in certain plays involving running.

To Archie’s surprise, Texas was ranked as the top team in the coaches’ preseason top 25, fueled by the excitement surrounding Manning as the team’s starting quarterback.
Last season, the Longhorns finished with a 13-3 record, falling to the eventual champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes, in the College Football Playoff semifinals. With Arch leading the way, Longhorn fans have their sights set on a national championship.
