The Army Secretary, Dan Driscoll, made an announcement on Wednesday directing the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to withdraw a leadership offer that was extended to former Biden appointee Jen Easterly.
Easterly, a former Army intelligence officer who played a role in establishing the U.S. Cyber Command at the National Security Agency (NSA), previously served as the U.S. director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) during the Biden administration.
This decision was influenced by leaked internal emails from major tech companies, revealing government pressure for censorship during the COVID-19 pandemic.
