Law enforcement officials are in pursuit of an Army veteran who is suspected of killing at least four people in Montana on Friday morning. The suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown of Anaconda by the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center. Brown is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen in the Stumptown area, west of Anaconda.
A photo released by the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) shows Brown fleeing shirtless and barefoot after the shooting. The DCI has located the white Ford F-150 pickup truck that Brown allegedly used to flee, but Brown himself has not been found.
Authorities have not determined the motive behind the shooting, which took place at The Owl Bar around 10 a.m. on Friday. The search for Brown has focused on the mountains near Stumptown Road, with SWAT teams clearing his residence as well.
Residents in the area have been advised to remain indoors and vigilant as the manhunt continues. If anyone sees Brown, they are urged not to approach him but to call 911 immediately. Brown is described as 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
The victims of the shooting have been identified, but their names will not be released until all family members have been notified. Brown, a former Army sergeant who served in Iraq, is considered a dangerous fugitive, and the search for him continues.
