Ashley Moody, appointed by DeSantis, secures Trump endorsement

President Donald Trump has given his endorsement to U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody for the upcoming election. Earlier this year, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Moody to the Senate seat left vacant by Marco Rubio. Rubio had left the Senate to serve as Secretary of State under President Donald Trump.

In a recent post on Truth Social, President Trump expressed his full support for Moody, stating, “SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!”

Ashley Moody expressed her gratitude to Trump for his endorsement, saying, “Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump! I’m incredibly honored by your support and look forward to our continued work together to make this a SAFER and STRONGER nation.”

Moody, along with most of her Republican colleagues in the Senate and House, recently voted in favor of the Trump-backed One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Marco Rubio, who was re-elected to the Senate in 2022, left office before his term was set to end in early 2029. A special election will be held next year to determine who will represent Florida for the remainder of the term.

Prior to joining the U.S. Senate, Ashley Moody served as Florida’s attorney general.
