During a game on Wednesday, Brittney Griner of the Atlanta Dream was ejected after receiving two technical fouls. The incident occurred when Griner argued with and made physical contact with a game official after a contested rebound.
The first technical foul was given to Griner after a verbal exchange with the referee, and the second came when she appeared to bump into the official. As per WNBA rules, Griner was removed from the game immediately.
Griner, who recently joined the Dream after 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, has been averaging 10.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season. Despite her ejection, the Dream managed to secure a narrow victory over the Dallas Wings with a clutch 3-pointer from forward Naz Hillmon in the final seconds.
The win brought the Dream’s record to 16-11, placing them second in the Eastern Conference standings behind the New York Liberty.
