Brooke Hogan, who is married to former NHL player Steven Oleksy, took to social media on the day of Hulk’s funeral to explain her decision to skip the event.

“My father detested the sadness of funerals. He did not want one. And even though I appreciate all the events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I felt the need to pay tribute to him privately in the most genuine way I could,” she wrote.

Brooke Hogan also addressed her complicated relationship with her father in a touching tribute following his passing.

Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71 years old.

Close friends and family gathered at Indian Rocks Church for a private funeral service to honor the wrestling legend, where WWE icons like Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon were in attendance, along with other celebrities like Kid Rock and Bam Margera.

Rest in peace, Hulk Hogan.
