Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull enjoyed some relaxation by the pool before a game, which may have caused some tension with Caitlin Clark.

The Indiana Fever stars shared a TikTok video of themselves in bikinis before their game against the Sparks in Los Angeles, hoping to attract swimsuit brand endorsements.

“We are heading to our game tonight. Let’s see if there’s a swimsuit brand interested in partnering with two Indiana Fever mermaids,” Cunningham captioned the video.

Clark left a comment on the video urging swimsuit brands to focus on basketball instead.

Cunningham responded with a playful jab, suggesting maybe a brand could make a full-body wet suit for Clark. The TikTok post has garnered over 1.5 million views.

Despite the humorous exchange, Cunningham has been a strong supporter of Clark, defending her on and off the court. Cunningham even referred to Clark as the face of the WNBA and criticized those who think otherwise.

Cunningham emphasized Clark’s impact on the league and recounted instances of rivals targeting Clark on the court due to her star power.

The veteran guard has been vocal about her support for Clark and has faced consequences for defending her teammate, including ejections from games. In her seventh WNBA season, Cunningham continues to stand up for what she believes in.

Jacy Sheldon and Marina Mabrey were involved in altercations with Clark during a game, leading to ejections for Cunningham and Sheldon. Despite the challenges, Cunningham remains a key player for the Indiana Fever.

In 25 games this season, Cunningham has been averaging 8.0 points per game with a 41.9% three-point shooting percentage.
