CeeDee Lamb collides with official during Cowboys game in NFL news

Dallas Cowboys standout CeeDee Lamb opted to sit out the team’s first preseason game of 2025 against the Los Angeles Rams, but still found himself in the midst of some action.

Lamb was on the sideline when he witnessed wide receiver Jonathan Mingo outpace a couple of Rams defensive backs to get wide open on a play in the second quarter. However, as Lamb turned his back, a sideline official accidentally collided with him.

Neither the official nor Lamb expected the incident, and both men were assisted back to their feet without any apparent injuries.

“It’s sideline interference. CeeDee Lamb was standing in the restricted white border area, which is our area to officiate the game. The official on the play was focused solely on doing his job, and he ran into CeeDee Lamb, who was standing in that restricted area,” explained referee Alex Moore to a pool reporter.

The Cowboys were penalized for Lamb’s unintentional involvement.

Los Angeles ultimately emerged victorious with a 31-21 win. Stetson Bennett IV threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, while Blake Corum added two rushing touchdowns.

Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton III contributed 143 passing yards and a touchdown pass, with Will Grier completing 2-of-3 passes and scoring a rushing touchdown.

Lamb might not see much action, if any, in the remaining preseason games, considering he is the team’s top receiver.

In 2024, Lamb was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time after recording 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdown receptions.
