Six individuals linked to the viral beating in downtown Cincinnati have been indicted by a grand jury and are now facing additional charges.

The suspects, identified as Patrick Rosemond, Jermaine Matthews, Montianez Merriweather, DeKyra Vernon, Dominique Kittle, and Aisha Devaughn, have each been charged with multiple counts of felonious assault, assault, and aggravated rioting, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

An eyewitness, Jay Black, described the chaotic scene and mentioned that despite the violence, many people tried to intervene and stop the fight.

The incident sparked a national outcry as questions arose about the lack of police presence in the area, with reports indicating only 11 officers were on duty downtown that night.

In a press conference, Cincinnati Police Chief Theresa Theetge expressed disappointment that only one person called 911 out of the approximately 100 individuals present during the altercation.

One of the victims, identified as Holly, suffered severe injuries while attempting to break up the fight and was left unconscious.

If convicted, the suspects could face up to 29.5 years in prison.
