Dave Edmunds was hospitalized after experiencing a severe heart attack.

On July 29, the wife of the Welsh singer-songwriter, Cici Edmunds, shared on Facebook the harrowing experience of her husband “dying” in her arms before being revived by medical professionals.

“Dave Edmunds, my beloved husband of 40 years, suffered a major heart attack as I had mentioned in a previous post. He passed away in my arms while I tried desperately to save him by clearing his airways from the fluids that are released from the body when we die,” she wrote.

“As I knelt on the floor with Dave lifeless and fluids coming out, I remained composed, despite being heartbroken and terrified at the sight of my husband’s lifeless body in my arms,” she continued. “The nurse was by my side on the floor, performing intense CPR.”

Although a nurse informed her that Dave had passed away, Cici refused to give up hope for a miraculous recovery.

Cici shared that the nurse continued CPR on Dave as she had requested.

“Every second counts, so there is no time for emotions,” she said.

Cici, who has also been dealing with health issues herself, expressed shock over the traumatic experience.

“My talented, funny, and special Dave could use all the prayers and well wishes from everyone,” she wrote. “The doctors at the ICU miraculously intubated Dave after bringing him back to life momentarily.”

“He has suffered brain damage, severe memory loss, and is at high risk for another heart attack. If that happens, there is no chance for Dave,” she added.

Cici thanked everyone for their prayers and good wishes, mentioning that Dave faces a long road to recovery if he survives.

“We both have a challenging journey ahead, but the support from kind-hearted people like you makes it a bit easier. Thank you all for your love and light,” she concluded.

Throughout his career, Dave Edmunds played in various bands and gained recognition with rock band Love Sculpture in the 1960s.

In the 1970s, Dave released his debut solo album, “Rockpile,” featuring covers of songs like Dave Bartholomew’s “I Hear You Knocking” and Bob Dylan’s “Outlaw Blues.”

A representative for Dave did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
