This week, actor Dean Cain revealed that he experienced serious sexual harassment while working on the set of “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.” The 58-year-old, known for his role as Superman in the 1990s series, shared with Variety that he could have pursued a significant sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history.

Cain did not provide further details about the alleged harassment, but Variety reported that it negatively impacted his relationship with his then-girlfriend Gabrielle Reece, a volleyball star.

Variety also mentioned that there were ongoing rumors surrounding the harassment allegations, which led to the show’s abrupt ending after the fourth season, leaving Cain’s plans to direct several episodes unfulfilled.

Cain mentioned that “Lois & Clark” had some risqué elements, but he cherished working alongside his co-star Teri Hatcher.

Describing their on-screen relationship, Cain said, “Teri Hatcher and I were frequently engaged in intimate scenes, partially clothed.” He praised Hatcher’s portrayal of Lois Lane, stating that she was the best in his opinion.

Cain expressed that he did not mind being viewed as a sex symbol and considered it a flattering compliment.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Cain mentioned that it was a lucrative opportunity, surpassing any earnings from his brief stint in professional football.

Despite the financial rewards, Cain described the grueling work schedule, starting early on Mondays and ending early Saturday mornings.

He humorously referred to the long work hours as “Fraturday” and expressed frustration over the lack of time for personal fitness due to contractual restrictions.

Cain also mentioned his lack of awareness regarding residuals at the time, alleging that Warner Bros. obscured profits to avoid additional payouts.

He cited George Clooney’s successful lawsuit against “ER” as an example of standing up for fair compensation, a decision he was advised against due to potential repercussions.
