Deion Sanders’ well-being has been a popular topic of discussion this off-season. Recent reports indicated that the Pro Football Hall of Famer was dealing with an unspecified health condition.

As Sanders gets ready for his third season as the head coach of Colorado football, he provided a positive update on his health status on Friday.

“Back and Feeling Great!” Sanders shared on X.

Sanders has chosen to keep many details about his health private, but he seems willing to share more information now.

A press conference with Sanders and his medical team is scheduled for Monday. Personnel from CU Anschutz and UC Health will join Sanders to provide updates, university officials announced in a news release.

The health issues prevented Sanders from fully participating in the football team’s spring and summer workouts. The problems also led to his absence from summer football camps in Colorado, as reported by USA Today in June.

In recent years, Sanders has faced blood clot issues and had two toes on his left foot amputated.

Sanders avoided discussing his health at Big 12 Media Days earlier this month.

“I’m already back,” the 57-year-old told ESPN on July 9. “I’m here today. I’m handling my responsibilities. So, I look forward to it. I can’t wait. You’ve got to understand, some of the young players I haven’t even met yet. I’m so excited about that.”

In a social media video posted on July 20, Sanders told his son, Deion Sanders Jr., “You know I’m still going through something,” before adding “I ain’t all the way recovered.”

Sanders will face additional challenges on the field once the new season begins. Colorado will be without Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in 2025. Hunter was the second overall pick in April’s NFL Draft, while Shedeur fell to the fifth round.

Kaidon Salter transferred from Liberty to Colorado and is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Buffaloes in 2025.

Colorado kicks off the regular season in Boulder against Georgia Tech on August 29.
