Dolly Parton holds spirituality in high regard.
The renowned country music artist has always been vocal about her faith. In a recent discussion with famed interviewer Lawrence Grobel, Parton revealed the depth of her beliefs.
Grobel, known for his interviews with various celebrities over the years, shared excerpts from his diary with Vanity Fair. These entries detail his conversations with Parton, whom he first met in 1978.
The two developed a friendship, and in 1981, when Grobel was considering interviewing infamous serial killer Charles Manson, he sought Parton’s opinion. He was unsure about proceeding with the interview.
“I think he’d steal your soul,” Parton warned Grobel in the diary entry. “I can’t even look at a picture of him.”
Parton expressed that engaging with Manson would not be beneficial and that the attention would only feed into his notoriety. She emphasized the negative impact such an encounter could have on one’s spirit.
Grobel ultimately decided against the interview, crediting Parton with helping him make that choice.
Parton’s strong faith has always been a guiding force in her life. She believes in the power of spirituality and attributes her success to her unwavering beliefs.
She has been candid about her spiritual journey, expressing her reliance on God to lead her in the right direction and remove negative influences from her life.
Parton’s openness about her faith has garnered some criticism, but she remains steadfast in her beliefs, finding strength in sharing her spiritual experiences with others.
