In an unexpected turn of events, the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays made a trade before the MLB deadline on Tuesday.

The Orioles traded right-handed reliever Seranthony Dominguez to the Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed prospect Juaron Watts-Browns.

Surprisingly, Dominguez was seen walking through the tunnel to join the Blue Jays during their doubleheader on Tuesday, instead of having to make travel arrangements to meet his new team.

For Game 1, Dominguez was ready to pitch for the Orioles if needed. However, for Game 2, he was prepared to face his former teammates in a Blue Jays uniform.

To accommodate Dominguez on the roster, the Blue Jays designated Chad Green for assignment after a tough performance in Game 1.

This trade marks the third reliever the Orioles have dealt this year, following Bryan Baker’s trade to the Tampa Bay Rays and Gregory Soto’s addition to the New York Mets.

Dominguez, who was previously traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Orioles, has a 3.24 ERA over 43 outings this season. Despite his impressive strikeout record, he has struggled with command, resulting in a 1.344 WHIP.

On the other hand, Watts-Brown, a 23-year-old player, has showcased his talent with a 3.54 ERA over 19 starts split between Double-A New Hampshire and High-A Vancouver this season.
