President Trump expressed his positive reaction upon discovering that actress Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, stating that he now views her viral American Eagle ad campaign as “fantastic.”
“She’s a registered Republican?” Trump responded to a reporter’s inquiry about her political affiliation. “Oh, now I love her ad.”
President Trump further remarked, “You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That’s what I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”

The actress’ voter registration information came to light as she faced criticism for her controversial American Eagle jeans campaign. Since June 2024, she has been registered with the Republican Party of Florida in Monroe County, according to public voter records cited by the New York Post.
Earlier this week, American Eagle launched their latest campaign featuring the actress, titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.” Following the release, there was a range of reactions on social media.
Some critics pointed out that the campaign’s play on “genes” versus “jeans” reflected eugenics-era slogans, while supporters argued that it was a playful marketing tactic.

In a promotional video shared on the brand’s Instagram, the 27-year-old actress approached an AE billboard featuring her and the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes.” Sweeney crossed out “Genes” and replaced it with “Jeans” before walking away.

“My political advice to the Democrats is to continue labeling anyone who finds Sydney Sweeney attractive as a Nazi. That seems to be their actual strategy,” Vance quipped during a podcast appearance on “Ruthless.”
