In Montauk, N.Y., local authorities reported a tragic incident at the exclusive Montauk Yacht Club where 33-year-old swimwear entrepreneur Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra was found dead aboard a docked yacht early Tuesday morning.
After Nolan was discovered unresponsive on the yacht Ripple just after midnight, Suffolk County Police detectives initiated a homicide investigation. Despite efforts to revive her with CPR, she was pronounced dead on the yacht.
Nolan, originally from Ireland and a successful Manhattan-based bikini label owner, had recently hosted a pop-up event in the Hamptons and was about to return to Ireland to visit her family.
Although the initial autopsy did not reveal any signs of trauma, investigators are waiting for toxicology results to determine the cause of her death. Here is a timeline of the events:

Shortly after midnight: Responding to a 911 call, East Hampton Town officers found a woman unresponsive on a docked vessel at the Montauk Yacht Club. CPR was attempted by bystanders before she was pronounced dead.
Witnesses on other boats at the Montauk Yacht Club reported that a man, who owns two boats at the marina, sought help from others on the dock by yelling and throwing items at neighboring boats.

4 a.m. – Suffolk County Homicide Squad detectives took over the investigation. The cause and manner of death remained unknown.
Crime scene investigators thoroughly searched the yacht, collecting evidence and documenting the scene.

Wednesday, Aug. 6
An initial autopsy did not find any signs of violence, but the findings were inconclusive.
The deceased was identified as Nolan‑O’Slatarra.

Originally from Ireland, the 33-year-old was a Manhattan fashion entrepreneur known for her high-end bikini brand, East X East, and active social media presence.
Nolan received her degrees in commerce and digital marketing from the University College Dublin before moving to New York City at age 26, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Thursday, Aug. 7
Nolan’s family in Ireland expressed shock upon hearing the news. Her mother, Elma Nolan, mentioned that Martha had planned to return to Ireland and had called just days earlier to ask for a ride from the airport.

Elma said she spoke with a detective in Montauk but was told that no further information could be disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
