Ex-wife of Chargers’ Rashawn Slater criticizes NFL aggregator for framing

The former wife of Los Angeles Chargers player Rashawn Slater expressed her displeasure with how an NFL social media aggregator portrayed the news of his contract extension.

Slater recently signed a four-year contract extension with the Chargers, making him the highest-paid lineman in NFL history with a reported value of up to $144 million, including a $29 million signing bonus.

The NFL social media aggregator, Dov Kleiman, mentioned in a post that Slater had recently divorced his wife, implying that the timing of the contract extension was related to the divorce. Slater’s ex-wife, Stassney Brown, responded to the post expressing her support for him and emphasizing that his contract should be the focus, not their personal life.

It was Brown’s first activity on her account in a while, and she clarified that the divorce was recent but did not provide specifics on the timeline.

Slater was drafted by the Chargers as the No. 13 overall pick in 2021. Despite a brief setback due to injury in 2022, he has been a two-time Pro Bowler and has shown consistent performance on the field.
