The case of a recent college graduate who disappeared from her cruise ship cabin almost 27 years ago remains a mystery for investigators. A new documentary aims to shed light on the search for a woman who vanished without a trace.

In March 1998, Amy Bradley set off on a Royal Caribbean International cruise with her family for a seven-day trip to the tropics. The 23-year-old had recently graduated from college and was planning to pursue a master’s degree in sports psychology.

Her story is now the subject of a new three-part Netflix documentary series titled “Amy Bradley Is Missing.”

PARENTS BELIEVE DAUGHTER WHO VANISHED FROM CRUISE SHIP 27 YEARS AGO IS STILL ALIVE

On the night before her disappearance, Bradley was at the Rhapsody of the Seas nightclub with her brother Brad, where they stayed until the early hours of March 24. Bradley’s father, Ron, last saw his daughter asleep on the cabin’s balcony.

About half an hour later, Bradley disappeared as the ship was getting ready to dock in Curaçao.

An extensive search was conducted for the recent college graduate, but Bradley could not be found. The ship continued its scheduled stops and returned to Puerto Rico four days later.

Various theories circulated about Bradley’s disappearance, including the possibility that she fell overboard and drowned, or that she jumped intentionally. However, her parents have always believed that she was kidnapped and might still be alive.

While the investigation into Bradley’s disappearance continued, Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard Lt. Sjoerd Soethout suggested to reporters that she may have fallen from the ship’s balcony, as reported by The Associated Press. At the time, an FBI spokesperson stated that there was no evidence of foul play, and the case eventually went cold.

Peter Valentin, chair of the Forensic Science Department at the University of New Haven and a former Connecticut State Police detective, expressed doubts about the possibility of a fall or push based on the available evidence. He highlighted the lack of physical evidence in Bradley’s cabin, as it had been cleaned before FBI agents could access it.

One year after Bradley’s disappearance, her parents filed lawsuits against Royal Caribbean, alleging negligence in handling their daughter’s case. The cruise line maintained that they had acted appropriately and responsibly throughout. The lawsuits were later dismissed in 2000.

Royal Caribbean did not respond immediately to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Years later, Bradley’s family received sexually explicit images of a woman from an adult website based in the Caribbean, further fueling their concerns about her involvement in sex trafficking. The woman in the photos, known as “Jas,” deliberately concealed any identifying features, such as Bradley’s tattoo of a Tasmanian Devil spinning a basketball.

There were also reported sightings of Bradley by various individuals. Tourist Judy Maurer claimed to have seen a woman resembling Bradley in a restroom in Barbados being escorted away by three men. David Carmichael mentioned a possible sighting of Bradley while in Curaçao, where she was accompanied by two people. Navy veteran Bill Hefner believed he saw a distressed Bradley at a local bar in Curaçao.

However, Valentin expressed skepticism about these sightings, emphasizing the importance of comparing eyewitness accounts alongside forensic techniques and electronic evidence.

Investigators previously looked into Alastair “Yellow” Douglas, a member of the ship’s band who was seen dancing with Bradley before her disappearance. Valentin highlighted the challenge faced by authorities due to the lack of electronic evidence at the time.
