The FBI is currently looking into allegations of sexual assault on a Carnival cruise ship.

A spokesperson from the FBI informed KHOU 11 that the reported sexual assault incident occurred on the Carnival Breeze ship, which operates from Galveston, Texas. The incident occurred during a cruise that returned to Galveston on Monday.

“FBI Houston is investigating allegations of a sexual assault that occurred on the Carnival Breeze cruise ship that docked in Galveston on 07/28/2025,” stated the FBI spokesperson. “In line with standard procedures for crimes on cruise ships, an FBI Maritime Liaison Agent from the Texas City Resident Agency is working in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the cruise line on this matter. Due to ongoing case reviews and investigations, the FBI will not be releasing any further details or updates on this issue.”

The Carnival Breeze cruise lasted 4 days and included a stop in Cozumel, Mexico.

The FBI is also looking into a death that occurred on another Galveston-based cruise ship, the Carnival Dream.

A spokesperson from FBI Houston informed Fox News Digital that the incident took place on July 23 aboard the Carnival Dream.

Investigating deaths on cruise ships is standard protocol for the FBI, according to the spokesperson.

“This standard procedure is aimed at ensuring transparency. It does not automatically imply any suspicious activity, and the circumstances of this case do not suggest any such behavior. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time,” added the spokesperson.

KHOU reported that the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased individual as 48-year-old Euvelester Villarreal Jr., who passed away from natural causes.
