A mother in Florida was arrested after allegedly leaving her two children inside a hot car while she went shopping on one of the hottest days in 2025, according to officials.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that Marianne Isnar left her two children unattended while she shopped at a Dollar Tree in Lehigh Acres, Florida, on Sunday.
Deputies found the car with the children inside had reached a temperature of 100 degrees, despite the outdoor heat being 98 degrees. The mother claimed she was only in the store for five minutes, but officials confirmed she was inside for 25 minutes.
Isnar was charged with child neglect for leaving her children unattended in a motor vehicle. She was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the importance of not putting a child’s life at risk. He expressed gratitude that the children were unharmed.
