Intelligence sources revealed to Fox News Digital that there were credible foreign sources indicating that the FBI would be involved in spreading the controversial Trump-Russia collusion narrative even before launching the Crossfire Hurricane probe. CIA Director John Ratcliffe is expected to declassify the intelligence related to former Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.
A source familiar with the classified annex mentioned that the intelligence collection predicted the FBI’s actions with alarming accuracy. The source stated that the release of the classified annex would support claims of a coordinated plan within the U.S. government to link Trump to Russia and help the Clinton campaign stir up controversy.
Former CIA Director John Brennan briefed former President Barack Obama in the summer of 2016 on intelligence suggesting that then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was planning to associate Trump with Russia. Ratcliffe, as director of national intelligence, declassified Brennan’s notes from that meeting.
The declassification process is being closely coordinated between Ratcliffe, FBI Director Kash Patel, DNI Tulsi Gabbard, AG Pam Bondi, NSA Director William Hartman, and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley for public release.
Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which concluded in 2019, found no evidence of criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 election. Following Mueller’s investigation, John Durham was appointed to investigate the origins of the Crossfire Hurricane probe.
Durham’s report highlighted the FBI’s failure to act on intelligence suggesting manipulation for political purposes during the 2016 election. The declassification of the classified annex is expected to shed more light on these findings.
Ratcliffe previewed the declassification during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News. He mentioned that the intelligence shows a connection between a Hillary Clinton plan and an FBI plan to fuel the fake Steele dossier and Russia collusion claims.
The release of the declassified annex comes after Ratcliffe and Gabbard revealed that Obama administration officials “manufactured” intelligence to push the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. FBI Director Kash Patel has initiated criminal investigations into Brennan and Comey, while Gabbard has sent criminal referrals to other Obama-era officials.
