The trade deadline for Major League Baseball is approaching, with the New York Mets contending for the National League East division title against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Despite the trade deadline looming, Mets’ star shortstop Francisco Lindor remains unfazed about potential moves. “I don’t worry about adding or subtracting that is not my job. My job is to play shortstop, (I) let (the front office worry) about that, I don’t have to worry about that one,” Lindor told Fox News Digital in a recent interview discussing Miracle Treat Day at DQ.

The Mets currently hold a slim lead over the Phillies in the NL East. The team has made key acquisitions to strengthen their bullpen, including All-Star reliever Gregory Soto, setup man Tyler Rogers, and All-Star closer Ryan Helsley.

Soto, with a 3.79 ERA and 46 strikeouts, has been a valuable addition. Rogers boasts a 1.80 ERA, while Helsley has recorded 21 saves with a 3.00 ERA.

Meanwhile, the Phillies acquired closer Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins, further intensifying the competition in the NL East.

Despite rumors of a center fielder acquisition, Lindor remains focused on the team’s performance. “We just got to continue to be ourselves and continue to play the game the right way and push for each other and support each other to try to be the best version of ourselves,” Lindor stated.

Lindor, having a stellar season, has contributed significantly to the Mets’ success. With a .246 batting average, 20 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases, Lindor has been a standout performer.

Named to the National League All-Star team, Lindor continues to lead by example on the field.
