Three individuals from Venezuela, facing capital murder charges in Texas, have had detainers lodged against them by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Yosguar Aponte-Jimenez, Jose Trivino-Cruz, and Jesus Bellorin-Guzman are accused of being involved in the fatal shooting of 48-year-old Santiago Lopez Morales at a Motel 6 in Garland on June 20, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
“Three criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela, released into the U.S. under the Biden administration, are now charged with capital murder and robbery for the shooting death of a man at a motel in Dallas County, Texas,” said Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a statement.
“Thanks to the diligent work of ICE law enforcement, these criminal illegal aliens’ crime spree has come to an end. These dangerous criminals do not belong in the U.S. ICE has placed a detainer to ensure their removal from the country after they face the consequences of their actions,” she added.

The DHS, referencing local media reports, stated that the June 20 shooting was connected to an aggravated robbery at a Deluxe Inn located approximately a mile away from the Motel 6.
“A woman at the Deluxe Inn reported that two Hispanic men forced their way into her room, held her at gunpoint, sexually assaulted her, and stole cash, jewelry, and her ID before fleeing,” the DHS disclosed.
“These criminal illegal aliens confessed to targeting sex workers, as they believed they were less likely to report crimes. Jimenez admitted to over 25 robberies, while Trivino-Cruz confessed to two additional robberies on the same day,” it added.
