Johnny Depp surprised fans by appearing at Alice Cooper’s concert in London to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with a song shortly after his passing.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor joined Cooper on stage, playing the guitar and performing Black Sabbath’s classic hit “Paranoid” to an enthusiastic crowd, dressed in a style reminiscent of his character Captain Jack.
“Lovely tribute last night to Ozzy by Alice Cooper featuring Johnny Depp,” one fan shared on social media along with a video of the performance.
Another attendee also expressed their excitement at seeing Depp at the concert in London, highlighting the surprise appearance.
Cooper humorously introduced Depp as “some guy we found out in the alley that said something about vampires,” to the delight of the audience, as shown in another video shared on social media.
Depp and Cooper are both members of the band The Hollywood Vampires.
“Here’s for Ozzy!” Cooper exclaimed to the crowd while wearing an Osbourne T-shirt as they concluded their tribute performance.
The actor, who is set to star in the upcoming thriller “Day Drinker” alongside Penélope Cruz, remained on stage after the Osbourne tribute to perform the Alice Cooper classic “School’s Out” with the band.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 after battling various health issues, including Parkinson’s disease, which he disclosed in 2022.
“Everybody in, this one’s for Oz tonight,” Cooper told his band backstage before a show in Cardiff, Wales, on the night of Osbourne’s passing.
Cooper expressed his sadness at the loss of the rock legend, acknowledging Osbourne’s impact on the music industry and paying tribute to his legacy.
The post-performance in Cardiff was dedicated to the memory of the late Black Sabbath frontman.
Cooper described Osbourne as a unique figure in the world of rock music, blending dark imagery with a sense of humor that endeared him to fans and peers alike.
“He was and will continue to be a rock n roll legend. Rock n Roll is a family and a fraternity. When we lose one of our own it bleeds. I wish I would have gotten to know my brother Ozzy better,” he added.
