Following a serious injury to Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris during a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, players from both teams came together in the middle of Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a moment of prayer.
Norris, 24, sustained the injury in the fourth quarter while attempting to tackle Falcons running back Nathan Carter. He remained motionless on the field after Carter’s leg made contact with his head during the tackle.

The game was paused as Norris received medical attention for approximately 20 minutes before being taken off the field in an ambulance.
Play resumed shortly after, and a touching scene unfolded.
The Falcons seemingly skipped a snap as players from both teams stood together. They joined hands, bowed their heads, and formed a circle for prayer.
“It’s a violent game that we love, but in moments like this, the brotherhood shines through,” said Lions head coach Dan Campbell when addressing the media after the game. “Seeing players from both teams come together to support one another is truly meaningful.”

An emotional Campbell shared that he and Falcons head coach Raheem Morris agreed to halt the game, stating that “It just didn’t feel right.” With 6:31 remaining in the game, the league officially suspended play.
“Events like this put things into perspective,” Campbell added. “My thoughts and prayers are with Mo. I ask that everyone keeps him in their prayers.”
The Lions provided an update later that evening, indicating that Norris was in “stable condition” with “feeling and movement in all his extremities.”

“He’s breathing, he’s talking. It’s good. He’s got some movement. Now they’re running more tests,” Campbell added.
Norris was scheduled to remain at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight “for observation.”
