The suspect in a quadruple murder case, Austin Drummond, appeared to live a comfortable life in his prison cell, complete with TV streaming, alcohol, and video games, as seen in pictures he posted on Facebook.
Authorities are still on the lookout for Drummond, 28, who is accused of killing James M. Wilson, 21, Adrianna Williams, 20, Cortney Rose, 38, and Braydon Williams, 15, according to the Dyer County Police Department. The bodies were found on July 29. A baby left on the front lawn of a stranger’s house is said to be related to all four victims.
Drummond spent 13 years in a Tennessee prison for aggravated robbery and retaliation charges. The retaliation incident occurred while he was serving his sentence. He was released on Sept. 1, 2024, according to the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
The images on Drummond’s Facebook profile revealed his possession of a Roku, a handheld video game device, at least one cell phone, and stocked pantry.
In one photo, Drummond can be seen with a bottle of Ciroc Vodka.
“Ciroc….. almost home living it up till I get there,” Drummond captioned the picture on Nov. 18, 2023, almost a year before his release.
Former NYPD Detective and security expert Pat Brosnan criticized the prison staff for failing to properly monitor Drummond’s cell.
“There was a degree of irresponsibility, neglect, and likely recklessness on the part of the wardens, senior management staff, and other prison officials,” Brosnan stated. “Regular checks of the cells, known as shakedowns, are supposed to be conducted to ensure no drugs or contraband are present. This is part of the standard protocol in both state and federal prison systems.”
Brosnan suggested that Drummond may have had inside help from someone working at the prison to smuggle in the contraband.
At the time of the murders, Drummond was out on bail for an attempted murder charge filed in Dec. 2024, despite the alleged crime occurring while he was still incarcerated.
The authorities are unsure of how Drummond managed to bring contraband into the Tennessee Department of Corrections facilities, but he has been charged multiple times with smuggling contraband into prisons.
A Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokesperson revealed that Drummond’s vehicle was found in Jackson, Tennessee, but he was not inside. A law enforcement source informed that Drummond is likely still in Tennessee.
Drummond is facing charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, possession of firearms, and other related offenses.
Anyone with information on Drummond’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Dyer County Police Department at (731)-285-2802 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
