Malcom-Jamal Warner has passed away at the age of 54.
The actor, best known for his role in “The Cosby Show,” tragically drowned in Costa Rica while swimming at Playa Grande de Cocles in Limon province.
Despite efforts to rescue him, Warner could not be revived by first responders.

Warner rose to fame as the son of Bill Cosby’s character on “The Cosby Show,” appearing in all 197 episodes of the sitcom from 1984 to 1992.
In 1986, Warner received an Emmy nomination for his supporting role on the show.

Despite the controversies surrounding “The Cosby Show” due to Bill Cosby’s legal issues, Warner remained proud of the show’s impact on both Black and American culture.

Warner continued his acting career beyond “The Cosby Show,” starring in shows like “Reed Between The Lines” and “Malcom & Eddie,” as well as appearing in various films.
His most recent project was a podcast titled “Not All Hood,” which he hosted with Weusi Baraka and Candace Kelley.
