Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev believes that President Donald Trump’s recent ultimatum for Russia to resolve the conflict with Ukraine is a dangerous escalation towards war. Medvedev, who now serves as the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, warned that Trump’s deadline of 10 to 12 days for Russia to end the conflict will not lead to a positive outcome for the United States.
In a post on X, Medvedev stated, “Trump’s playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10… He should remember 2 things: 1. Russia isn’t Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country.” He also advised Trump to avoid escalating tensions further.
