During the recent All-Star game in Atlanta, the New York Mets sent four players, but Francisco Lindor, the star shortstop, believed another player deserved to join them.

Lindor expressed his opinion that his teammate Juan Soto should have been part of the Mets’ group in Atlanta.

“I wish players like him could participate in every All-Star game,” Lindor shared with Fox News Digital, mentioning Miracle Treat Day at DQ.

Lindor expressed his disappointment that Soto was not selected for the All-Star game despite his impressive performance leading up to the event. Soto currently holds a .248 batting average with 25 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases in 106 games this season.

Lindor also pointed out that Soto was not the only player who was overlooked for the game.

“Many players across the league did not receive the recognition they deserved,” Lindor stated. “Juan Soto is one of the top hitters in the league, and he is expected to achieve remarkable numbers by the end of the season.”

Alongside Lindor, Pete Alonso, Edwin Diaz, and David Peterson were the Mets players chosen for the National League All-Star game.

Now that the All-Star game is behind them, the Mets are concentrating on their division rivalry with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets currently hold a slight lead over the Phillies in the NL East division race.

Lindor emphasized the importance of the Mets striving to be their best selves as they aim for a postseason spot.
