Trump mentioned the potential takeover of the Washington, D.C. police force and the use of the National Guard to combat the violence.

During a press briefing on Wednesday evening, Trump stated, “We’re considering it, yes, because the crime rates are alarming.”

We aim to enhance the beauty of the city. It’s a shame. The crime rates, muggings, and killings are unacceptable. We will not tolerate it, and this may involve deploying the National Guard promptly,” he added.

When asked about supporting Congress in overturning the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, Trump responded, “We are exploring that possibility. Legal experts are already examining the matter.”
