Following a tragic mass shooting at the NFL headquarters on Monday night, Commissioner Roger Goodell has instructed all New York City-based employees to work from home until next week.

Goodell informed league employees that one staff member was seriously injured but is in stable condition at a local hospital after the shooting that claimed the lives of four individuals, including an off-duty police officer, before the gunman took his own life.

Fox News Digital obtained the latest communication from the Commissioner, outlining the decision to have all New York employees telecommuting for the time being.

The memo from Goodell stated, “For those of you based in our New York office, please plan to work remotely at least through the end of next week (August 8). The office will remain closed during this time, and we ask that you do not attempt to enter the building until we confirm that it is ready for us to return.”

Expressing condolences to the victims and their families, Goodell acknowledged the first responders and medical staff for their swift actions.

He also extended thoughts and prayers to the injured colleague and praised NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, who lost his life while working security inside the building.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams revealed that the gunman, identified as Shane Tamura, had a grievance against the NFL and mistakenly targeted the wrong floor in the building.

Adams disclosed that the shooter alluded to suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and expressed anger towards the NFL.

Investigators are examining a suicide note left by the gunman, which references CTE and his grievances against the NFL.

Goodell’s memo emphasized the support available through HR resources during this difficult time and announced a virtual town hall for employees to connect and receive support.

He urged employees to take care of themselves and each other and emphasized the importance of seeking additional support if needed.
